This is a creative nonfiction piece. It is based on research I conducted myself throughout the Shenandoah Mountains and Greene County on a little, unassuming house with a big history.

This is a fiction piece about a mother and daughter who receive an unexpected visit from a pregnant elk one evening. It was awarded a Silver Honorable Mention from the International Writers of the Future contest.
